Aleph Farms reveals how it will achieve net zero carbon by 2025

Israeli cultured meat company Aleph Farms has unveiled a roadmap to reduce its carbon emissions to zero by 2025. The plan was developed in collaboration with Christensen Global Strategies.

Aleph Farms announced its net zero goals last year, but has not disclosed how it will meet them. Today, the company has produced a detailed roadmap defining the strategic partnerships, investments and delivery opportunities necessary to achieve its environmental and business goals. Aleph’s operations will reach net zero by 2025, and the company’s entire supply chain will be carbon neutral by 2030.

To produce the roadmap, Aleph partnered with Aimee Christensen, CEO of Christensen Global Strategies and internationally renowned expert on climate change and sustainability. Aleph’s strategies will include the transition to renewable energy, increased energy efficiency and offsetting unavoidable emissions by decarbonizing its production lines and supply chains.

Aleph will also work with ENGIE Impact to ensure that its operations are net-zero compatible from the start. In addition, CE Delft will analyze the environmental impact of Aleph’s production chain and supply chain, advising the company on how to optimize these processes.

Last November, Aleph Farms unveiled the world’s first finely-grown ground beef. This was followed by a thick cut steak in February and then a partnership with meat producer BRF to distribute the steaks in Brazil. In September of this year, Aleph received an investment from actor Leonardo DiCaprio and announced a collaboration with seafood giant Thai Union.

“Aleph’s vision for food security is to produce quality meat locally for anyone, anytime, anywhere, even in the most remote areas that are most affected by the climate change, ”the company told vegconomist in an interview.
