Independent responsible-travel publishing

Thailand deserves better than mass tourism.

Honest travel guidance that places wildlife, nature and local communities ahead of marketing claims.

We believe Thailand deserves better than mass tourism

EcoExplorer Thailand began as a response to exploitative travel operators and greenwashed “eco-tours”. We are a small independent team of travellers, conservationists and Thai locals who want visitors to experience the Thailand that still has wild elephants, healthy reefs and living local communities.

Our aim is practical: help you make better decisions before you book, travel or recommend an experience to someone else.

Our promise

How we assess travel experiences

No harmful promotions

We do not accept free trips or commercial arrangements from operators that harm animals, habitats or local communities.

Full transparency

Recommendations should explain practical trade-offs, costs and likely effects on ecosystems and local people.

Local voices first

Major guides are reviewed with input from Thai families, guides, conservation workers and park staff who know the places directly.

Who we are

EcoExplorer Thailand was founded in 2024 by Mae, a Thai conservationist, and Alex, a slow-travel photographer. Together, the team has spent more than eight years travelling across Thailand by motorbike, longtail boat and on foot.

The editorial position is simple: animal exploitation should not be repackaged as conservation, and a sustainability label should not be accepted without evidence.

What we cover

Our publishing plan is organised around six categories: Destinations, Wildlife & Animals, Nature & Outdoors, Local Culture & Communities, Sustainable Stays and Travel Planning.
